Marshville Parade
Saturday, November 22nd
11:30am – Report to PHS for practice. Eat BEFORE you come to practice.
We will leave all instruments loaded in the band trailer. All students must take their hat, uniform, and shoes home with them. We will NOT be meeting at school on Sunday before the Monroe Parade. Students must come to Monroe already dressed in FULL UNIFORM.
Monroe Parade
Sunday, November 23rd
12:00pm – meet at the field house in FULL UNIFORM next to Walter Bickett Stadium in downtown Monroe. Look for the Piedmont Band Trailers.
Traffic will be very bad and roads will be closed quickly. Please come fully dressed and ready to go.
The parade starts at 2:00pm. Let’s hope that we are in the front half of the parade. There are over 300 entries in the parade each year. Where we are in the parade will determine how long it will take to dismiss everyone.
All parents planning to pick up their child after the band is finished must meet us back at the field house immediately following the end of our portion of the parade. The easiest way to see the entire parade and still meet your child is to find a spot at the beginning of the parade route near the Food Lion on Sunset Blvd.
For safety and security reasons, under no circumstances is any band student permitted to leave the field house area to find their parent. There will be thousands and thousands of people at this parade, and I do not want anything bad happening to any student. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in this matter. My main priority is the safety of your child.
