Frequently Asked Questions
When is the trip? 2018 trip dates are TBA
Who gets to go? In order for students to participate in any trip with the Piedmont Band program, students must be enrolled in band for the entire school year (both semesters). The only exception to this rule are students that are in Color Guard that do NOT play a band instrument during the second semester.
What is the cost? Typically, the cost is between $575-$600 per person. Students and chaperones will have monthly payments for about 5 months. All band fees must be paid in full before any money will be credited toward the trip.
What does the cost include? It includes all transporation fees, hotel for 4 nights, HOT breakfast each morning at the hotel, a 3-day WDW Park Hopper Pass, performance fees, and atleast a $45 meal card. We have always been able to increase that amount, but to be safe, we are only guaranteeing $45 for meals while in the parks.
What company is used for the charter buses? For safety reasons, we will ONLY use Burke Christian Tours. They are more expensive, but after some transoportation issues we had in 2012, we do not want to compromise saving money with safety of all people involved on the trip.
When and where the does the band perform? We will perform in a parade either in the Magic Kingdom or at Epcot. Dates, times, and location are all decided by WDW.
Who gets to chaperone? Parents/Legal Guardians of Pride of Piedmont members get to chaperone. Former students and siblings of students are not allowed to chaperone.
Can younger/older siblings go on the trip with the band? No. This is a trip for the Pride of Piedmont Band. We want to give as many students a chance to participate as possible.
Will students be allowed to walk around WDW by themselves? No. Safety is our #1 priority. WDW Resort is the same size as San Francisco. Students will be in groups of 4 or more, and each group will have an adult chaperone with them while in the parks.
All other information will be posted as it becomes available.
